eloona. goes to Hannover Messe

“More visitors, more internationality, more solutions!” …this is the conclusion of the world’s most important industrial fair, the Hannover Messe. It was possible to experience live during five days the guiding principle “Integrated Industry – Creating Value” and its benefits for companies. Intelligent robots, learning machines and networked energy systems ensured an extraordinarily high number of visitors. With 225,000 visitors and 75,000 from abroad, the Hannover Messe evidences the fact that international decision-makers recognise that the only way to get a comprehensive view of the developments within the industry 4.0 is by attending this world trade fair in Hannover. Over 6,500 exhibitors demonstrated where the future industry is moving on to. In the Hall assigned for research, development and technology transfer, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) introduced innovative, medium-sized companies under the motto “growth engine digitisation – live industry 4.0”. The focus was set on industry 4.0, energy efficiency, electro-mobility and innovation. Many exhibits resulting from research & development projects stood for the motto of the Federal Ministry. eloona GmbH showed its new development in the field of “innovations”. This was not a matter of course, because, among hundreds of applicants, last year the eloona team hoped to be able to present the sponsored development project at the stand of the BMWi at the Hanover Messe. At the beginning of the year, the medium-sized company received the joyous news that it has been selected amongst many projects to exhibit its innovation at the world’s most important trade fair for industry. As part of the “growth engine” of medium-sized businesses, eloona GmbH participated at the stand of the Federal Ministry at the Hannover Messe and represented its motto “The revolutionary knitting technology on the rise”. The visitors could experience at the stand how innovation in the field of thick-wire processing feels like. With a special trade-fair edition of the newly developed knitting machine, eloona GmbH closely showed the knitting process and demonstrated confidently the various possibilities within the new knitting technology. The optimised geometries, a laser monitoring, the use of new materials and manufacturing processes of individual machine components, the improved interaction of the applied technologies and the integration of further production processes into the knitting system significantly improve the manufacturing efficiency of technical thick-wire mesh. The customer benefits not only from zero-defect and high-quality knitted products, but also from the shortest delivery times and the best possible technical support. As an environmentally conscious and future-oriented company, our focus was on the energy efficiency of the machine. Thanks to the reduction of unwanted forces acting on the knitting system and the implementation of an unobstructed and smooth production process, the development team was able to decisively influence the energy consumption of the machine and thereby use energy more efficiently.
The aim of the development was to optimise the process possibilities in the knitting technology allowing to take crucial steps towards product improvement. We have already undertaken further developments in the field of cut protection and safety components. Additionally, we have been able to gain new and valuable insights in the filtration technology.
The slogan at the Hannover Messe was thus: “Make the advances in knitting technology visible and tangible.” Our exhibit took over this task – the magnet of eloona’s stand. It was astonishing that the interest of the visitors in the new knitting system was much greater than expected. In addition, we could significantly expand our network for further development projects. Whether from visitors, business partners, existing as well as potential customers, and last but not least from the Federal Minister of Economics, Zypries, eloona earned recognition for its successfully implemented cooperation “ZIM” project for small and medium-sized businesses. This was rounded off by the fact that we were able to reach an immediate market introduction of the products resulting from the sponsored project.
One thing is clear: eloona GmbH will not rest on this success. On the contrary, the positive feedback at the Hanover Messe 2017 urges us to continue with new development projects – the eloona team agrees on this. “Because innovation means that we ceaselessly think about the future,” says Robert Ruf, Managing Director of eloona GmbH.
